Meanwhile, there are many so called multi brand scanners, which also offers some functionality regarding BMW and Mercedes cars, where is the Carsoft - benefit?
Developers of multi brand scanners have to cover all car brands on the market - there is not much time to develop special functions, such as ECU coding, etc, as clients of such multi brand scanners do evaluate their scanners regarding all brands, not the special functions on one single brand. Carsoft clients are specialists - so can Carsoft developers specialize and concentrate just on Mercedes and BMW / MINI.
Multi brand scanners often only offer small LCD displays, mostly monochrome, and their functionality is reduced to error reading and erasing. With the CIS information system, Carsoft offers a complete information library with extended trouble shooting hints and valuable testing information for a fast and effective repair.
Multi brand scanners usually do not offer any coding functions for ECUs, or, if offered, they are usually loaded with bugs, which is even worse. Due to the cars ECUs are meanwhile linked together in a sort of network and due to a spare parts market, where usually uncoded ECUs are offered, only extended coding functions do really grant independency.
Carsoft is very expensive, how does it pay for itself? How is the amortisation?
Surely, Carsoft is not cheap, but EVERY car repair, you can not do because of missing diagnostic facilities or due to a lack in information, is costing you an order today - and a client tomorrow!
Take only one months and calculate the costs you either spend on diagnostic costs in other workshops with proper testing equipment and on the way to and from this workshops or if you evaluate the orders you can’t execute, because you can not access the vehicles - and then take Carsofts leasing rate (single system starting from: 99,90 EUR/ month + tax).
You will not find a reasonable alternative to Carsoft, if you count Mercedes / and or BMW vehicles owners amongst your clients.
Many multi brand scanners can read the vehicle type XYZ as good as Carsoft
Carsoft always tried to keep the list of coverage and functions as small and clear as possible. In fact we tried to use this lift as an information to the client - not necessarily as an advertising tool. Many producers of multi brand scanners try to list every supported ECU, as unimportant as it is to impress workshop owners. Its in your hand to try it out. You will be surprised, how many advantages Carsoft can offer to you, exspecially, if you compare directly with a multi brand scanner. You will find out, that with those scanners, there are many ECUs you can not even read, while Carsoft usually offers you additional special functions, coding, adjustments and live data.
In the internet, there are low budget piracy copies
Sure, but those are of the Carsoft versions 7.4 (MB) and 6.5 (BMW). And, not even the latest service packs of these versions. Both versions do not offer you any information library. You can only access to older cars and because you can not use the Carsoft service packs, you do still have bugs in, which in original Carsoft have been sorted out since long. The reason for that is - only one version has been hacked. Do you really want to risk, that errors in such hacks cause you all the margin, you would make on a repair?
If you are a professional and want to earn money with your labour, you do need the support of an experienced manufacturer like Carsoft. You require updates and service packs and you can not at all afford the risk to not be able to read out a clients car, when it enters your yard.
Needless to say, that we will sue every known user and distributor of hacked Carsoft software.
